This beautiful trulli was completely renovated and extended in 2007 by its Italian owners to create a 3 double bedroomed, 3 bathroomed holiday home. The home is set in 1 acres of olive and almond groves in a lovely rural setting. There are delightful countryside views and a real feeling of privacy and tranquility despite being only 10 minutes from the bars, restaurants and shops of Ostuni.
this property is positioned 10 km from the sea, just 10 minutes drive away from the wonderful beaches of the Natural Reserve area of Torre Guaceto, swing possible and 25 minuts from Brindisi airport.
The charm of this DIMORA MARIELLA is in its origin structure without any modification. It has an antique part with a typical caved, curved “volte a botte“ ceiling where now the kitchenette, a sofa, the dining table and the former fire-place area have been collocated.
Externally a large veranda (surrounded by climbing plants) equipped for outdoor dining. On the roof a 60m2 solarium area for the friends of sunbathing .
The whole property has a 10.000m2 garden.
The nearest village is called Casalini and boasts a great eatery which doubles as the village butchers(Maccelleria). All the dishes are local and predominantly meat of course all roasted almost before you eyes and delicious, washed down of course with the local vino della casa- house wine. This village is to the left as you come out of the private road to the house in the direction of the town of Cisternino.
Cisternino is a smaller version of Ostuni and even more low key and relaxing and is 10 minutes away form the house. It has been described as the most beautiful small town in Italy. The town square looks like the set for a production of any Rossini comic opera.
How to get there
The area is well served by flights from the UK. Brindisi is 25 minutes away and Bari an hour from the trullo. Ryanair flies from Stansted to both of these airports. British Airways and Alitalia fly from Heathrow to Bari. Alitalia also fly to Brindisi. Flights exist to Pescara, Napoli and to Rome involving a four hour car journey, but taking in many beautiful sites on the way to Ostuni.
